Attending a homeopath is a little different to attending a GP it tends to be longer with much more patient participation and inclusion.
The first visit will usually last about 1 to 2 hours. Subsequent visits are usually shorter, depending on the nature of the complaint. The Homeopath will ask for details of your current medical condition along with relevant details of your past medical history. Because homeopathy treats people based on individuality, people experiencing similar ailments will often actually receive different remedies. Symptoms are seen always in the context of the person who is experiencing them, and each individual will have their own unique expression of disease and illness.
For example one person feeling pain in their joints may find the pain aggravated by damp conditions while another person may find that cold weather aggravates more. Someone experiencing localised discomfort such as tired eyes may feel cold compresses soothe the eyes whereas another person would find that did not help.
The Homeopath will study your case notes before selecting a remedy they perceives to be the best suited to helping you and your symptoms. Sometimes a daily dose remedy is prescribed, on other occasions the prescription may be a small as only one tablet to stimulate a healing response. The tablets dissolve on the tongue and have a sweet taste.
No, Homeopathic remedies do not interfere with other medication you may be taking. Remedies are extremely dilute which makes them very safe yet at the same time they are sufficiently strong to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities. Homeopathy is totally Complimentary and Natural.
This depends very much on what sort of complaint you have, as well as the other individual characteristics of your case. So it is not realistic for your Homeopath to assess this until it can be seen how you respond to the remedies prescribed. Most complaints however clear up rapidly.
